I went to the Denstist yesterday....

Why is it, when you go to the dentist, he lays you back and as soon as he gets his tools in your mouth, do you get the most unbearable itch above your upper lip or nose? the more you try to ignore it the more it irritates until you have to feed your hand through his just to scratch it ! lmao.....THEN as if that isn't enough, you lay there and get the most uncontrolable urge to swallow! Not just once, but over and over again!! arghhhh and thats BEFORE he starts filling your mouth with water from the equipment pmsl Shocked

....It must be a psychological thing, theres no need to swallow that amount of times lol, I try to do it between him pulling the probe out, if not I have to swallow with my mouth wide open (not an easy feat I can tell ya! ).....is it just me?

No - it's not just you. The same thing happens to me as well. I can't take to lying back as far as they wnat you to either and have to ask him to raise me up a bit. Also what does the dentist expect you to say when he asks you a question and your mouth is full of equipment and the water is gurgling through the little tube hung over your teeth@@@@

lolol my nose always runs when i go to the dentist its really embarrassing

my prob is i shake , stomach turns, hot sweats----- and thats just in the waiting room. as for swallowing i take deep breathes and then get told to relax ---- she gotta be kidding

I have a easy gag reflex. Sometimes it's that bad he only has to open my mouth n I start to heave lol.
I hate the dentist as well Amber I actually went to one back in Belfast that specialises in people who are afraid, think that's why i keep putting off going to the one here even tho i've terrible toothache.
