i was joking, i don't think i've broke 1,000 (yet!!), it took me ages to replace my VHS with DVD, some aren't even available on disc but my collection is growing, though it's slowed down in the last year (lack of funds ).
i know i've got around 200-250ish Hong Kong movies, about 60ish Jackie Chan films on top of that, then got all the english language flicks. if i'm really sad & bored, i may count them sometime... back in 10 minutes!! lol |

I know that, why do you think you got the
I've finished updating my list.... 1366.
Now, here's the secret...I don't buy all mine brand new...although a lot are. I have a DVD burner and most of my movies are recorded to DVD from pay TV. Although I can't do that at the moment because my hubby pulled all the plugs out when we decorated and now I can't get the recorder to talk to the box - and vice versa!
I called a techie but he wants $75 for 1/2 hour, yet it will only take him 5 mins...he did it for me before and charged me $50, that was only a few months ago too. You'd think he would do it a bit cheaper than $75! I guess they have to make their gold somehow.
Here's me prattling on LOL _________________ We're the pride of South Australia...we're the mighty ADELAIDE CROWS..... |

Yes, I started to watch it and was interested immediately...but then I am also into history and medieval times, especially the royals so this was right up my alley!
I fell asleep half way through so I need to watch it again from the beginning. _________________ We're the pride of South Australia...we're the mighty ADELAIDE CROWS..... |

Looking at Brendas wwyd question she must have seen this film!....'Next' , starring Nicholas Cage. I saw it on one of the Sky channels the other night as I was flicking through. I haven't seen it advertised or every heard of it, and seeings it was half way down the listings, I thought it's got to be pretty crap, but seeings there was nothing else on I decided to give it a go.........wellllllllllllllll it was really good! (well I thought so)¬!! I even sat up late to watch the end lol...anyone else seen and liked it? _________________ If you see someone without a smile.....give them yours |

Awww not much slips by you does it Debs....yeah I'd just finished recording it to DVD. Fan-bloody-tastic I would say, but that kind of movie is right up my alley anyway woo hoo!!
Recently I said that my DVD recorder needed re-tuning in and the bloke was going to charge me $75 for 1/2 hour...well I decided to take a look at it myself......I picked up the remote and pressed the AV button...bam, I had it on...all back...all working. I am so glad I didn't get him back now.
Another movie I have just seen is called "Romulus, My Father" it is an Australian film starring Eric Bana and it's about this lad, he has probably polish immigrant parents I would think. The mother runs off and leaves the boy with the dad on a farm out in the bush country. She comes back every now and then just to torment the pair of them I think. She moves in with another bloke, has a daughter by this other bloke, shags another one in the shed, the bloke she lives with bashes her up then kills himself, then she kills herself.....geeze. The strange part is tho, that it's a true story.
It's a bit slow but you have to keep watching, although I did enjoy it. I felt so sorry for the young boy.
Anyhow, if you get it on telly over there it's worth tuning in just to see the aussie bush LOL. Oh it's set in the 1950's. _________________ We're the pride of South Australia...we're the mighty ADELAIDE CROWS..... |

Sounds good Brenda, will watch out for it .....a few months back, The Worlds Fastest Indian was on, have you seen that? I really didn't fancy it from the write up, but when there was nothing else on we decided to watch it. It was bloody brilliant! Anthony Hopkins played the lead brilliantly, he really is an awesome actor. It was a slow paced film, but had all the right elements, true story too and if you haven't seen it I'd recommend it.
Phew @ sorting out your DVD, what a saving! lol _________________ If you see someone without a smile.....give them yours |

Yes, I have that one in my collection. AH plays a Kiwi in that (New Zealander)
I was the same Deb, didn't fancy it but it was a really good film.
We just watched The December Boys with Daniel Radcliffe in it. This was filmed entirely in South Australia and my hubb spent most of the film telling me where it was being shot. Reading the end credits we discovered that my smart-alec husband knows his areas! LOL.
Good movie though!
Another good one, if I haven't mentioned it before is on now. "Disturbia" it's about a lad who is involved in a car accident where his father is killed. A year later he is obviously still grieving, his teacher makes a remark to him regarding his father and the boy lashes out, punching the teacher in the face.
He is subsequently put on assault charges and is incarcerated on home detention for 3 months. In that time he makes some observations about his neighbours including the serial killer who lives next door...good watching. _________________ We're the pride of South Australia...we're the mighty ADELAIDE CROWS..... |
