watched the Forbidden Kingdom today on DVD.
starring martial arts movie icons Jet Li & Jackie Chan together for the first time.
it sort of combines ideas from the Never Ending Story (!!) with that of Journey To The West (i believe they were a series of stories & later films), which is more recognised in the west as the Japanese produced comically dubbed TV series Monkey... which tells the story of 4 mis-matched characters brought together on a quest.
i loved it!!
for once, an english language production for Jet & Jackie that combines the right balance of on-screen action & comedy. sure there are loads of kung fu flick/Bruce Lee ("be like water....") references, but shouldn't ruin anyone's enjoyment - i highly recommmend this to everyone!!!!
oh, & Collin Chou (a.k.a: Ngai Sing) - from the Matrix 2 & 3 - is great as the bad guy; again battling Jet Li, as he has in the past in a handful of Hong Kong flix |

I saw Twilight yesterday. Omg. You guys don't know because I haven't been around, but I have been absolutely OBSESSED with Twilight! The book is amazing, the movie was amazing, I want to marry Edward Cullen (but I would never take him away from his Bella! they are the two main characters, by the way), and OMG I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THEY MAKE A MOVIE OF THE SECOND BOOK!!! I think if you like vampires and love stories, this is the movie for you. But most definitely read all the books!!! _________________ If you're reading this, you're done now. |

I don't actually remember what I paid but I got them on Ebay, both the Planet and Beneath the planet.
I had to send to America for some of my DVDs you just couldn't get them here.
Has anyone seen that movie Atonement?
We watched it last night. It was pretty good but very slow I thought, I also thought it was directed well.
We watched ZULU tonight....good old 1964-introducing Michael Caine-version....gosh he was so very young and handsome! I still think he's handsome LOL. _________________ We're the pride of South Australia...we're the mighty ADELAIDE CROWS..... |

If Edward Cullen came along before Alex...then yes, I would SO leave Alex for him!! But I can't take him away from his Bella! So I am still open for Alex :P Twilight is easily as good, maybe even better, I saw it for the second time last night. The Cullen boys are all so sexy! _________________ If you're reading this, you're done now. |

Roadie a 1980 film starring rock star Meatloaf & Kaki Hunter (from Porky's).
Meatloaf plays an engineering whizz who falls in love with groupie Hunter, who wants to lose her virginity to shock-rocker Alice Cooper!!
yep, the plot is awful & so is most of the script, but gives good excuses for exclusive performances from stars of the time Alice Cooper, Blondie, Roy Orbison & more.
[skippy nerd fact: noticed the bad guy from Robocop/the dad in That 70's Show has a cameo as a security guard!! ooh, those humble beginnings ] |

lol you spot them all Skips! Eyes like a hawk eh.
As for Crimbo films, what a let down!
The Golden Compass, I was disappointed with.
Beowulf was passable.
Christmas with the Kranks, I loved 2 years running, this year I thought it was crap lol
Transformers, brilliant, loved it, but it was a tad too long (21/2 hrs)
Can't remember what else I watched, just shows how bad they were.!
Ohhh one I did like this week was December Boys, a heartwarming story of 4 orphans, who were sent on a holiday from their catholic convent orphanage. It was set in 1960 Australia and filmed in a beach cove. I really enjoyed it _________________ If you see someone without a smile.....give them yours |
