last night was the first hour of Dead Set on E4 (in the U.K.), another 4 episodes are shown tonight & subsequent nights at 10pm....

the plot: a dramatisation of U.K. version of Big Brother, including behind the scenes with crew, producers, etc. combined with a 28 Days Later scenario of the U.K. being over-run with a virus turning normal people into undead flesh hungry Laugh2 creatures!!! leaving very few people (including B.B's house-mates) uncontaminated.

real-life Big Brother contestants appeared in last nights episode briefly at a reunion, but B.B. fans should enjoy regular U.K. host Davina getting her throat ripped out & herself becoming a rampaging zombie!!

Dead Set, in my opinion, is the best U.K. TV production in many years (no, i don't like Doctor Who!!) & shouldn't be missed!!!

[i expect this'll be out on DVD in time to cash in on chrimbo]

Oooh I don't like those kinds of shows....sorry Skip, it doesn't do for us to all like or dislike the same things does it?
There are a lot of these shows/films lately though, has anyone noticed that?

We watched "The Eye" (Jessica Alba) the other night and thoroughly enjoyed it.
"Premonition" with Sandra Bullock is another one we have only just seen and enjoyed.
These are on our pay tv channels at the moment.

We've just finished watching Jumper with Hayden Christiansen from Star Wars. It was a good movie, kept you watching, but it wasn't as good as we thought it was going to be.
The Reaping with Hilary Swank is another one we have just watched - a really good one! If you like scary!!

there sure are! the recent trend probably started with films like Shaun Of The Dead, a spoof homage to the original (& best) George A. Romero zombie trilogy, then again with films like 28 Days Later, & the remakes/re-imaginings of the Romero ones.
they'll probably be loads more cinema/straight to DVD releases before the trend runs out of steam.
just like in the 80s there were loads of Police Academy style movies - anyone remember George Clooney flick Combat Academy (starred the guy from Christine)? or the naughty Police Ace. rip-off Recruits?... hours of fun!!

i wouldn't mind seeing that, i seen the original (Korean??) a year or two ago & thought was pretty good. the remake might be worth watching for the Alba Laughing
