My new purchases...well...I got me a new computer. My laptop was 3 years old and s-l-o-w......
I got another desk top now, it's an Acer with a 22" flatscreen (beautiful) and a tiny little drive so it doesn't take up all the room on my desk.
I got me another mobile phone the other day too - have I told you all this?
I got a really nice Samsung. It's black and the whole front moves up to show the numbers. The screen is almost as big as the whole phone which is what I need now I am getting old and blind LOL.
It has a camera and camcorder built in, quite a big one too with auto flash and everything. Not sure what the megapixels are, I think it's 5.
Yep I think that's all I got new at the moment....that'll do for now anyway. _________________ We're the pride of South Australia...we're the mighty ADELAIDE CROWS..... |

Hubby bought me a chopper yesterday!
We were in the supermarket when an announcement came over the PA. "All shoppers today will get a free decorator knife... go to the stand behind the fruit and veg area"
So hubby said "quick, get down there and get us a free knife" (always out for something free!)
So off I went, (I think this is how he smuggled stuff into the trolley LOL)
There was a demonstrator stand there and I realised we had to go through one of those demos first - I hate those bloody things!
I headed off back to hubby but he insisted and came with me...well we watched this man chop all this food up with this chopper thing and when he finished he was giving away the knives....the knife was a small plastic v shaped thing for doing fancy rockmelon baskets...big deal, I've been doing that with an ordinary knife for years!
But hubby was impressed and wanted to buy a chopper, so he did. It also came with another knife, same as the 2 free ones the demonstrator gave us for buying a chopper, a spiral thing to make fancy carrots or spuds & stuff and a pair of scissors we already have 2 pairs of! Ok nothing like spares I spose LOL.
So...I asked hub when he's going to use his chopper! This is when he told me it was for me!! Aha! _________________ We're the pride of South Australia...we're the mighty ADELAIDE CROWS..... |

2 sets of new lights, multicoloured. normally i stick to clear lights and gold and silver tinsel etc. but this year i'm ditching the trimmings and just putting lights and tinsel EVERYWHERE. and the theme is multicoloured, ao i'm getting a few bits every week until last week in november when they all go up _________________ Housework is a complete waste of time. Pills....medications!
It's funny how we mention buying new things for the house or ourselves but what about those things we have to have like medications.
Hubby and I went to the chemist last night and put in 3 prescriptions - 2 for him and 1 for me. Total cost? $93.90....yes, if you did your sums correctly that's $31.30 each.
Hubby is on 2 lots of meds, one for cholesterol and the other to keep his heartburn in check.
Me, I am on 5. I have 1 for cholesterol, 2 for high BP, asprin daily and a calcium one because my grandmother had osteoperosis.
So it costs a small fortune when we go to the chemist which we need to do twice a month because the tabs only last one month.
Be careful when you get older people coz you can rattle too! LOL
If we were pensioners, mind you, it would cost a fraction of what we pay now.
And on that note - I am off to work.....4am! _________________ We're the pride of South Australia...we're the mighty ADELAIDE CROWS..... |

Hey....no shame in asking! But I don't think so. I was thinking that the manufacturers could recycle them but that would be against health regs etc I would think. _________________ We're the pride of South Australia...we're the mighty ADELAIDE CROWS..... |

Ohhh new lights Shell, I'm getting all Christmassy too even though I've not started, I'm already thinking where to put the tree this year, I've got no room with the new sofa!
Ohh prescripts are so expensive aren't they I'm on 4 lots of medication at the mo, and Pauls on 1. I don't know why you can't pay one amount for the whole prescript, not a seperate amount for each item. _________________ If you see someone without a smile.....give them yours |
